Correction of inverted nipples

Inverted are the nipples pointing inwards on a breast, and are incapable to project outwards even during sexual stimulation.

During surgery the invertedl nipple is pulled outwards and the normal breast appearance is restored. The incision is made in the areola area and small careful surgical manoeuvres are performed to correct the inversion. The procedure is done under local anaesthetic or sedation, on an outpatient basis.

Postoperatively the patient is required to wear a special dressing on the breast to protect the nipple. Randomly the correction can be achieved just with a nipple ring. The choice between these two methods is done be the plastic surgeon, after careful examination and evaluation of the breast.
